Welcome to the Lodge of Sportsmen 9823 in the Province of Northumberland, which includes Freemasons who are sports minded meet to enjoy each others friendship and company.

The Lodge was conceived in the early 21st century after a Durham and Northumberland football charity match, after which discussions between the Durham and Northumberland Freemasons suggested a sports lodge in Northumberland should be formed. Following hard work by three of our members and assistance from two of our Assistant Provincial Grand Masters in the xxx the Lodge of Sportsmen 9823 was consecrated on the 16th March 2007 by Very Worshipful Brother Peter Magnay, Deputy Provincial Grand Master for the Province of Northumberland.

The first Worshipful master of the Lodge was WBro. J A Hands along with 45 members present. The membership included several golfers, former football referees and former amateur international footballer a founder of a senior non-league football club, four former professional footballers, rugby union player.
